The Board confirmed the appointment of one Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) and eight Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs), as part of efforts to fill vacancies left by the retirement of senior officers from various geopolitical zones.
The newly appointed members of the NCS management team include DCG S. Chiroma (North-East) and ACGs Z.M. Gaji (North-East), O.A. Adebakin (South-West), G.M. Omale (North-Central), M.S. Yusuf (North-Central), D.A. Nnadi (South-East), H.K. Ejibunu (North-Central), and D. Hassan (North-East).
In total, 4,291 officers received promotions, including 80 Deputy Comptrollers (DC) elevated to Customs Comptroller (CC), 151 Assistant Comptrollers (AC) promoted to Deputy Comptroller (DC), and 612 Chief Superintendents of Customs (CSC) advanced to Assistant Comptroller (AC). Other promotions included Assistant Superintendents of Customs II (ASC II) to ASC I, and Inspectors of Customs (IC) to ASC II.
The NCSB also approved special promotions for 16 deserving officers in recognition of their outstanding performance and contributions.
A posthumous promotion was granted to the late Deputy Comptroller of Customs, Etop Andrew Essien, who passed away in June 2024.
