According to security sources, the assault occurred in the early hours of Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The terrorists, armed with a variety of weapons, stormed the FOB Sabon Gari camp around 4 a.m. and engaged troops in a fierce battle that lasted over two hours.
“25 Taskforce Brigade was attacked during the weekend with so many casualties. So far, we have recovered over seven bodies,” a source told SaharaReporters.
The attackers reportedly burned several buildings and military operational vehicles during the raid.
