In an analysis shared on his social media page, Hanke expressed concern over the food insecurity occurring in Nigeria.

He stated that over 33 million Nigerians are at risk of acute food insecurity. His comment stems from the flood disaster that has ravaged over 3.7 million acres of cropland in the country.

Due to the heavy downpour, some states were engulfed by flood, causing significant losses to farmers and residents. This led to a rise in food prices and a shortage of some crops as a result.

Hanke, a critic of President Bola Tinubu’s government, further lamented the inflation in Nigeria, which has contributed to the depreciation of the naira.

He wrote, “#NGAWatch: This year, floods have destroyed over 3.7mn acres of cropland in Nigeria. Over 33mn Nigerians are at risk of acute food insecurity. If that isn’t bad enough, today, I accurately measure inflation in Nigeria at a PUNISHING 111%/yr. WELCOME TO PRES. TINUBU’S NIGERIA.”...READ THE FULL STORY FROM SOURCE ↔️
