This development was confirmed by General Christopher Musa, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, during an interview on Channels Television’s 2024 Year-In-Review program on December 31, 2024.
According to General Musa, all necessary legal and procedural documents have been submitted to Finnish authorities to facilitate the extradition process. The request is part of Nigeria’s broader strategy to address Ekpa’s alleged role in inciting unrest, promoting terrorism, and supporting secessionist activities in the country.
Commenting on the matter, General Musa stated, “I’m sure he’s cooling off somewhere. Legal action will be taken accordingly. I don’t want to say too much, but I’m glad he’s been arrested.
