Let’s take a look at the largest employable countries in the world.

United Arab Emirates

The Emirates Group is a major player in the global airline industry, with 112,406 staff in 84 countries. In Dubai, where the company is based, at least 22,000 cabin crew work for the airline, along with many more in offices and at the airport.

Most of the Emirates Group’s workforce are expats, as over 80% of the UAE’s population comes from other countries. To hire more Emirati workers, the government has launched programs to encourage companies to recruit locals, including setting quotas and offering training programs.

Sweden

In Sweden, most public sector jobs are spread across 250 government agencies, so private companies dominate in terms of staff numbers. Volvo Group, which makes trucks and heavy equipment, is the country’s largest employer, with 22,013 workers in 2022.

Its closest competitor, Volvo Cars, employs 21,371 people but has recently cut 1,300 jobs. Other big companies in Sweden include the truck maker Scania, tech firm Ericsson, and fashion retailer H&M.

Colombia

Colombia has one of the smallest public sectors among OECD countries, which means private companies employ the most people. The biggest is Grupo Éxito, a large supermarket chain with 522 stores across Colombia. It employs about 35,000 people in roles ranging from store staff to logistics and management.

Switzerland

Migros Group is Switzerland’s largest employer, with 87,195 workers. It’s a cooperative, meaning it’s owned by its 2.3 million members, who are also customers and staff.

Migros’s main competitor, Coop, also operates as a cooperative and employs 60,000 people. Other major employers in Switzerland include banks like UBS, pharmaceutical companies like Roche, and global food brand Nestlé.

New Zealand

Health New Zealand, also known as Te Whatu Ora, became New Zealand’s largest employer in 2022 when it replaced 20 district health boards. Today, it employs about 90,000 people, including doctors, nurses, and support staff.

In the private sector, Woolworths New Zealand, which runs supermarkets, is the largest employer, with 20,000 workers across its stores and distribution centres.… Read The Full Article Here.
