Fernandez recorded a live Instagram video of Argentina players singing racist songs about French players’ heritage in the dressing room after defeating Colombia 1-0 in the Copa America final.

Fernandez apologized, citing being that he was overwhelmed by the euphoria of the moment.

However, his Chelsea teammate Wesley Fofana, who is French, criticized him on social media.

With three French players on the team, including Axel Disasi and Christopher Nkunku, many fans are worried about the incident’s impact on team spirit.

Maresca, who is preparing for his first season at Stamford Bridge has downplayed the incident:
