In a statement issued on Monday night by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President also praised Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for winning the prestigious CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award. Additionally, he commended the Super Falcons for being named the Women’s National Team of the Year.
The awards were announced at the glamorous 2024 CAF Awards ceremony, held at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday evening. The recognition of these Nigerian athletes is a testament to their exceptional talent, hard work, and commitment to excellence on both the continental and global stages.
In his message, President Tinubu joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the achievements of Lookman, Nnadozie, and the Super Falcons, calling them “worthy ambassadors” who have brought immense pride to the country. He acknowledged that their triumphs serve as a source of national pride and reflect the global prominence of Nigerian sports.
