The Registrar also paid N80,000 as cost of prosecution, written apology and undertaken not to victimise the plaintiff nor assault her again.

These were the grounds which the court, presided by Chief Magistrate Uwani Danladi, considered in its judgement before discharging the defendant after striking out the matter.

Chiroma was arraigned before the court on the 13th May, 2024 for the offences bordering on assault, criminal force to deter public servant from discharging her lawful duty and voluntary causing of hurt in violation of Sections 244 and 219 of the Penal Law 2018.

According to report, Chiroma had on the 15th April, 2024 assaulted the Assistant Chief Lecturer who is also the Chairman Task Force Committee for the enforcement of school fees payment in the institution.

The accused beat up Barr Fadimatu, a housewife, for preventing a particular student from writing examination for failure to pay his mandatory fees as condition to writing the examination.

During the resumed court’s proceedings, Inspector Abubakar Nurudeen appeared for the prosecution, while S. N. Agaecheta appeared for the defendant.

Also, the Head of Public Sector Committee of the Nigeria Bar Association’s Women Forum who is also the immediate-past State Lead of the forum, Mrs. Fatima Bello Raji Esq, was in court to ensure justice in the matter.
