“The tragedy in Gaza exposed the Western civilization,” stated Khamenei in a tweet published on his verified account on X, a platform that was once Twitter. In Western culture, cruelty is so widespread that it permits bombing hospitals, killing hundreds of people in a single night, and killing close to 30,000 people in just four months.
Khamenei’s tweet echoed his previous statements in which he accused the US of orchestrating Israel’s bombing campaign in Gaza and warned that the IDF’s operations would not go unanswered. He also called for a “humanitarian truce” in the war-torn enclave, a proposal that was supported by 120 countries at the UN but opposed by 14, including the US and four EU members.
