“If what I am doing doesn’t please them, then it must be serving the people,” Bello stated, pointing to a disconnect between the government’s actions and the well-being of the population. He accused the ruling party of implementing policies that have led to severe hardship, with some people resorting to eating grass and drinking contaminated water to survive. According to Bello, these difficulties are not due to natural disasters but are the direct result of avoidable policy decisions made by the government.

He further condemned the government for allegedly neglecting the people’s suffering while focusing on accumulating wealth and launching what he termed “bogus projects.” Bello expressed his desire to make those in power uncomfortable with his work, as it highlights the struggles of ordinary Nigerians.
