The atmosphere, which was usually filled with the sounds and sights of daily business activities, is noticeably subdued as voters make final preparations to cast their ballots in the governorship election.

The development was apparently in compliance with the restriction order of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and it reflects the cautious anticipation that often accompanies election day in the capital city. Voters were seen waiting to ensure all necessary logistics were in place before they head to the polling units.

A significant security presence is visible at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office on Sapele Road.

LEADERSHIP reports that security forces, comprising police officers and military personnel, were stationed in strategic locations to maintain peace and ensure the electoral process runs smoothly.

INEC officials were also actively preparing their materials, with ballot boxes, voter registration devices, and other electoral tools being readied for distribution to various polling units across the city.
