Despite acknowledging the hardships Nigerians have faced due to the ongoing changes, the President emphasized that these reforms are necessary sacrifices for the nation’s long-term prosperity.
Delivering his speech on Wednesday during the presentation of the ₦47.9 trillion 2025 budget proposal to a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja, Tinubu urged Nigerians to trust in the process, assuring them that the challenges they are enduring will eventually lead to positive outcomes for the country.
“The path we have embarked on over the past 18 months is not an easy one, but it is essential for Nigeria to realize its true potential,” Tinubu said. “This journey of economic renewal and institutional reform is not one we chose lightly, but it is one we must follow for the future of Nigeria. I thank all Nigerians for walking this path of transformation with us.”
The President acknowledged the struggles faced by citizens as a result of the economic adjustments, including rising costs and inflation, but urged them to remain patient and hopeful.
