Eze was reportedly returning from a friend’s mother’s funeral wake with three other legislative aides and an additional individual when the accident occurred.
Chinonso Nwede, the secretary to the speaker, confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday. Nwede explained that Eze succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a medical facility, while the four other individuals involved in the crash are still receiving treatment for various injuries.
“This is a painful loss,” Nwede said, offering condolences to the family of the deceased, his loved ones, and the deputy speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly. He further emphasized the sadness surrounding Eze’s death, particularly as plans had been underway to celebrate his completion of the National Youth Service Corps and other personal achievements.
Eze’s life had been marked by resilience, having lost his mother at a young age. Raised by his father, who had high hopes for his success, Eze grew into a capable and respected individual, eventually serving as the personal assistant to one of the top figures in Ebonyi State.
