On Monday, September 16, Davido announced his endorsement of Ighodalo as the incoming governor of Edo State on his social media page.
Davido appealed to the youths in the state to vote for the PDP candidate.
According to the singer, Ighodalo happens to come from the same place as his late mother.
Sharing a photo of Igodalo, Davido wrote, “The next governor of my mother’s homeland”.
Veronica Adeleke, Davido’s late mother, hails from Edo State.
Davido’s post comes after his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, the Osun State governor, arrived in Benin to support Ighodalo campaign for votes as the election draws near.
Ighodalo on his part, expressed his gratitude to Davido for his support.
