When asked what his biggest obstacle was during the campaign season, he said the people do not believe in the political class anymore due to their past experiences.
He said he has been painted with the same brush as previous administrations due to their ineffectiveness in managing the resources of the state.
“My first challenge as a new politician is confronting the people who don’t believe anymore. The trust deficit is so wide that you ask yourself, how did we get here? Because over time the people have been raped serially so as far as they are concerned, they lump all of us politicians and tie us with the same brush,” he said.
“The challenge is to let the people know that I am not the same as them. And you need to repeat that message over time so that you can trust and believe us. I tell them all the time, that they have to look at pedigree. Go and see the people who have been there for 25 years, one person who has been there, in the first half (term), he wore APC jersey and in the second half (term), he wore a PDP jersey.
