PSG Confirm Neymar’s Surgery Was Successful
Meanwhile, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) has confirmed that the club’s forward, Neymar has successfully undergone surgery to treat an ankle injury.
Naija News recalls that PSG had announced that Neymar would be sidelined for the rest of the season due to the ankle injury.
The 31-year-old Brazilian forward had been battling ankle injury persistently over the years and it is believed that surgery would be the best way to end the persistent injury.
On Friday, PSG confirmed that Neymar underwent surgery on the said day and successfully had his injured ankle ligament fixed.
The Brazilian is now healing from the stitches which will likely keep him from playing football for the remainder of the season.
PSG said: “Neymar Jr underwent surgery late Friday morning at ASPETAR Hospital in Doha, by Professors Pieter D’Hooghe (ASPETAR), James Calder (Fortius Clinic London), and Rodrigo Lasmar (Brazilian National Team). The intervention went very well. The player will now follow a rest and care protocol.”
Neymar has previously had ankle issues, and this season, in which he has played in 20 Ligue 1 games, scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists, his most recent setback happened. The Brazilian has pledged to “come back stronger” from his present injury, although it’s likely that he won’t be able to play in competitive matches until the next season.….CONTINUE READING
