EPL: Manchester City rejects opening bid from PSG for Bernardo Silva

It’s been reported that the Portugal international is weighing up his options this summer. PSG are competing with offers from the Saudi Pro League and cash-stricken Barcelona for Silva’s signature.

Al Hilal are also trying to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City and have proposed a contract worth more than £75 million per year.

A football advisor at PSG, Luis Campos, is reportedly leading the negotiation for Bernardo Silva with Manchester City. Campos is a close friend of the Portuguese football star after launching the midfielder’s Champions League career by bringing him to AS Monaco in 2014.

The Daily Record reports that PSG’s first offer for Silva has been rejected but the player would like to move to France.

City on the other hand, are hopeful of convincing Silva to stay at the club and would like him to extend his contract. His current deal expires in 2025, and the club may need to force the Portugal international to make a decision over his future.

Recently described by Guardiola as “one of the best players I have trained in my life, ever”, Silva has won five Premier League titles across his six seasons at City, and was fundamental to the Abu Dhabi-owned club’s first Champions League title.

Silva, who got married last month and is about to become a father for a first time, has often disclosed his interest in taking on a new challenge away from the Premier League.
