A Facebook user is circulating a video from a protest scene with a claim that there was a demonstration in Ibadan Thursday (Oct. 17th).

The acclaimed “public figure”, with more than 6 thousand followers, shared the video on the social media platform on Oct. 18th, with the caption:

“TINUBU MUST GO PROTEST

Yesterday, protesters blocked Nigeria Army Zone at Ibadan calling them to takeover government from Tinubu.”

In the video, protesters were seen around military vehicles with some uniformed persons inside them. A particular voice was urging the military to take over as Nigerians were tired of the happenings in the country.

Verification:

Ripples Nigeria observed that the video has a floating Tiktok handle name (@mikkyforlife0) on the screen. Checking through the page with over 5,000 followers and 20,000 likes, it was discovered that the video has been online since August 2.

The video was shot during the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protest in August where demonstrators decried the state of affairs in the country.

Also, further checks show that there has been no news of a protest in Ibadan, Oyo State during that period as claimed by the Facebook user.

Conclusion:
