A former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has called out the Nigerian church for what he describes as a scam.

Speaking as a guest on the Honest Bunch podcast, the former African Action Congress presidential candidate described the act of Christians falling under anointing as a “scam.”

His statement comes as he revealed a meeting with Dr. Paul Enenche, who is the founder and senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre.

He said: “There is no pastor in Nigeria—and I will say this categorically—who drinks anointing oil. And anointing oil is made by Italians—those people don’t even know Jesus.

But you go and buy their oil, put it on a handkerchief, and throw it at people, and they start falling under what they call ‘falling under anointing,’ which is one of the greatest scams created by humans. It’s just hypnosis. And if you want to learn how to hypnotise people, you can do it on YouTube.”
