He suggested that instead of protesting, Nigerians should engage with the government through alternative means to ensure the administration fulfills its promises.

“Protests carry risks of being hijacked by criminals, and the government is wary of such dangers,” Akume stated during a press briefing with journalists and media executives at the Radio House in Abuja. He emphasized the importance of dialogue and assured that the government is open to such discussions.

Akume also mentioned that protests are not the solution to the issues being addressed by President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He urged Nigerians to prioritize peace and progress over protests against hunger, recognizing the right to peaceful protest but urging caution and vigilance.

“We appeal to Nigerians to pursue peace, dialogue, and collaboration in addressing our collective challenges. Please go about your legitimate activities and avoid actions that might disrupt national peace,” he said. He reassured that Nigeria is progressing and that the economic hardships will soon subside, leading to prosperity for all.

Akume highlighted that economic prosperity is the ultimate goal of President Tinubu’s administration, as it drives progress, lifts families from poverty, and builds resilient societies. To achieve this, peace and stability are crucial. He explained that peace fosters trust, cooperation, and shared purpose, enabling policies to yield results, businesses to thrive, and investments to flourish.

He acknowledged the economic and security challenges inherited by the administration in May 2023, necessitating bold reforms like the removal of the fuel subsidy. These measures, while impactful, required adjustments across the economy and daily lives.

The administration also faced a longstanding security situation, demanding significant resources to enhance security infrastructure and capabilities. This focus aimed to secure lives and property, build investor confidence, and boost food production by enabling safe returns to homes and farmlands.

President Tinubu sought the mandate to lead during these challenging times, recognizing the need for effective leadership to address accumulated issues. Akume concluded by noting the administration’s accomplishments over 14 months, laying the foundation for Nigeria’s immediate, medium, and long-term prosperity…..For More READ THE FULL STORY▶▶
