Former Sokoto governor and current senator, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has called for a nationwide coalition to remove President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in 2027.

Tambuwal made the call while addressing supporters in Sokoto, in a rally seen as a political show of force ahead of the next election.
He accused the Tinubu administration of worsening Nigeria’s economy, security, and political stability.
Tambuwal recalled warning against Tinubu’s leadership in 2023, calling the current hardship proof of his prediction.
He vowed that his party and allies would mobilise nationwide to defeat the APC.
Large crowds from Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara attended, chanting solidarity songs and waving banners.
Tambuwal pledged resistance against intimidation and silence in the fight to “end Nigerians’ suffering.”

Tambuwal’s remarks set the tone for what could be a fierce 2027 political battle, positioning him as a vocal opposition leader.
