The three convicted individuals were found guilty of committing armed robbery and unlawfully possessing firearms on July 7, 2022, along the Ilumoba-Aisegba Ekiti Road.
Presiding over the case, Justice Bamidele Omotoso declared, “The prosecution has proven beyond reasonable doubt the offence of conspiracy, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearms against the first, second, and third defendants. Consequently, for the offence of conspiracy and armed robbery, you are all sentenced to death by hanging. May the Lord have mercy on your souls.”
The prosecutor, Gbemiga Adaramola, informed the court that the men, armed with guns, had robbed two victims, Okey Jude and Jayeoba Ayobami, of valuable items, including laptops, phones, and N540,000 in cash. To support the case, the prosecution presented four witnesses and provided evidence, including two guns, phones, laptops, cutlasses, an axe, and face masks.
