The governor made this declaration on Friday in Ibadan while hosting a delegation from the South-East of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by the party’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara.

Governor Makinde described the incident as deeply sorrowful, regrettable, and preventable. Expressing his grief, he stated that he would cancel all planned birthday activities for December 25th and spend the day in solitude. “It is a day that is really sobering for me personally. Not only did I cancel the event in Ebonyi, but I also told everyone that I would stay indoors on my birthday. There is no party; I have sent the message out,” he said.

The governor reflected on the challenging year, recalling the Bodija explosion earlier in the year and other difficulties the state had faced. Despite these challenges, he expressed gratitude for the support the state has received. “We are strengthened by the show of support for us, to let us know that we are not alone in facing all of these,” Makinde added.

Governor Makinde also took the opportunity to thank the PDP delegation for their visit, noting they were the first to offer condolences after the tragic incident. “So, on behalf of the government and the people of Oyo State, we want to appreciate you for coming to commiserate with us and to let us know we are not alone,” he stated.BREAKING NEWS: POPULAR GOSPEL ARTIST MISTAKENLY SHARES NVDE V!DEO MEANT FOR HER BOYFRIEND IN CHURCH WHATSAPP GROUP.
