Speaking to key stakeholders on Tuesday, Eno highlighted the state’s history of peace and his administration’s dedication to enhancing residents’ welfare.

Eno questioned the necessity of protests in Akwa Ibom, pointing to significant efforts to support the population. These include the payment of over N22 billion in gratuities to retired civil servants and a N50,000 stipend to the elderly through the ARISE Elderly Care Initiative. He also mentioned the free voucher program, which benefits 314,422 families, and social transfers assisting over 200,000 vulnerable individuals.

Additionally, the governor discussed measures to alleviate the effects of fuel subsidy removal, such as a three-month wage award and a 13th-month salary bonus. He also noted the approval of 2023 promotions, increased pensions for pre-2012 retirees, and the release of outstanding contributory pension funds.
