The former Super Eagles defender revealed that Ademola Lookman might not win the award despite being tipped as the overwhelming favourite for the prestigious honor.
According to Udeze, this information was disclosed to him by a reliable source at the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Speaking on Brila FM’s No Holds Barred, Udeze said:
“My source told me Hakimi is the frontrunner for the award, ahead of Lookman. But that will be cheating if Hakimi wins because Ademola Lookman has shown he’s in top form for both country and club.”
This will come as a surprise to the football world if Udeze’s claim is valid.
Lookman has been tipped by many as the favourite to win the award following his remarkable campaign with Atalanta since last season.
