The 26-year-old produced a stellar individual performance to guide Ruben Amorim’s side to a sensational 4-1 victory against the Premier League title holders in what was the new Manchester United coach’s last home game for the reigning Portuguese champions.

Speaking on his Obi One podcast show, the former Super Eagles midfielder urged the Blues to pursue the signing of the former Coventry City striker, who he believes possesses all the qualities to excel in the Premier League.

“Definitely. For me, he is a Premier League player—someone who fits the league perfectly,” the 37-year-old said.

“He has all the qualities you need to succeed: strength, size, pace, and, most importantly, a clinical eye for goal.”

“His goal ratio is better than any striker in Europe right now, and the stats speak for themselves. He’s been incredible, and scoring three goals against Manchester City is no small feat. He’s been fantastic and even has a bit of a Haaland-like presence on the field.”

Gyokeres has netted an astonishing 16 goals in 10 league appearances for Sporting Lisbon this season. He has also registered five goals in four appearances in the current UEFA Champions League campaign.
