The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ended its long search for a new gaffer to lead the three-time African champions with the appointment of the Malian last week.

The NFF’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee recommended Chelle for the vacant role during its meeting on January 2, 2025, in Abuja.

The recommendation was subsequently approved by the NFF Executive Committee on January 7, 2025.

The appointment has sparked outrage among fans, as many believe Nigeria has more qualified indigenous coaches to lead the Super Eagles.

Reacting to the development, Osimhen noted that his relationship with a coach doesn’t affect his performance and passion on the pitch.

“I’m not a player who plays because of my relationship with my coach. I don’t play to impress coaches; I play to score and win trophies for my team,” the 26-year-old said, as quoted by teamnigeriauk on X.

“I’m not motivated by a coach, so a new coach in the Super Eagles won’t affect my passion for this job. I’m dedicated to lifting the AFCON Trophy 2025 with my colleagues.

“If the coach has any mission other than lifting the trophy, that’s where a problem may arise, because I play to win, not to entice a coach or people.”TOP SECRET REVEALED FINALLY!
