On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Idowu was detained in Abuja by operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department over his purported involvement in real estate fraud.

Reports indicate that Idowu allegedly regained his freedom after interventions by some prominent Christian leaders in the country.

Responding to the allegations, the cleric stated that he did not receive billions from anyone at any time.

“I do not have any property in Nigeria. The only property I have in Nigeria is the one bequeathed to me.
