Recall that during the elections, some people were seen openly threatening the Igbo people, to go home honorably, if they were not going to vote for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and during the governorship election, some people also warned Igbo people not to come out to vote if they were not going to vote for the APC.

While Maiyegun was reacting to this in a video that was shared by Kenneth Okonkwo, he said that he has never seen an opened bigotry like what happened during the 2023 general elections in Lagos State. Maiyegun claimed Igbos were threatened in Lagos whereas, such was never recorded in any other state in the Federation and that, such should not be encouraged anymore.

He said, “In the north, no one threatened the Yoruba or Igbo people not to come out to vote. I did not see it anywhere in Nigeria, except in Lagos State.”

He said, “Please don’t listen to this Maiyegun Yorubaman admonishing the “Baba” of Yorubaland. His mother and wife must be Igbo. Please let the Baba of Yorubaland banish such IgboYorubaman to Enugu State. I will be honoured and privileged to call him my brother. We shall overcome. Whatever”.…CONTINUE.YOUR.READING
