According to SaharaReporters, it was gathered that the vigilantes arrived in large numbers, launching an unprovoked attack on children, women, and elderly men in the community.
According to sources, the incident escalated when the vigilantes entered a mosque where children were being taught Quranic education.
They reportedly beat the children with sticks, knives, and other weapons, and even attacked the Mai Agwa of the community.

When he confronted them and inquired about their actions, he was beaten. His wife rushed to his aid, but she too was attacked. During the raid, the vigilantes allegedly stole their television and phones.
Confirming the report to SaharaReporters, the Niger State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Wasiu Abiodun said “on 31/12/2024 at about 7.30pm, it was reported at Morris Division that some vigilante members raided Soje A community without any police team in a bid to arrest some suspects in the area.
“Three suspects were apprehended by them, but on their way out of the community with the suspects, some miscreants and community members attacked and resisted the vigilante members.
“Consequently, the suspects escaped, there occurred a fight among the community and the vigilante members. The DPO Morris led a patrol team to the area, had a peace talk with the members and warned the vigilante members not to undertake any raid operations without working with the police.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TOADY!
