Manchester United’s new striker target after Rasmus Hojlund blow

Manchester United are likely switching up their priority centre-forward target.

101 covered reports on Tuesday, which claimed that Manchester United are preparing their opening bid for Rasmus Hojlund after personal terms have been ‘100 per cent’ agreed.

It was added that Atalanta told United they do not want the three players offered in the deal for Hojlund after initial talks, with their asking price around €65/70m.

Alfredo Pedulla then claimed Manchester United were going to offer €53-55 million plus bonuses for Rasmus Hojlund.

Now, however, this has seemingly proven to be too small an offer for the Serie A side.

According to ESPN, Man United are looking at turning their attentions elsewhere if Atalanta will not accede to what the Premier League club believe is a more realistic offer for their front man.

It is suggested that, whilst the Red Devils will test the waters with Atalanta and make a lower offer for Hojlund, United are working on a bid to acquire Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani.

The Frenchman scored an impressive 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 32 games league games last season.
