During World War 2, Mikhail Avtomat Kalashkinov served in the military as a veteran of the Battle. After figuring out how to get away alive, Kalashkinov became resolute in his pursuit to create his own weapon, one that was unquestionably faster. He came up with the idea for the pistol in 1945, but it didn’t receive preliminary approval from the government until 1946, and it wasn’t until 1947 that it was officially approved for usage by the Russian government.
