The index, which evaluates passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access visa-free, highlights Nigeria’s continued struggles with global mobility.

This year, the Nigerian passport allows visa-free access to a limited number of destinations, keeping it among the bottom 18 globally—a trend that has persisted for years.

In stark contrast, Singapore reclaimed its spot as the world’s most powerful passport, offering visa-free access to 195 destinations.

Japan, with access to 193 destinations, came in second, while several European countries like France, Germany, and Italy secured the third position with visa-free access to 192 destinations.

At the lower end of the rankings, Afghanistan remains at the bottom, with its citizens having the least travel freedom.

However, Nigeria’s placement at 183rd continues to limit the travel opportunities of its citizens, further emphasizing the challenges faced by Nigerians seeking global mobility.
