NANS-Ghana inaugurates new executives for the 2024/2025 administration

The handing over and inauguration ceremony recorded a resounding success as it marked a new chapter in the national union’s history.

The event was graced by highly reputable personalities like Mrs. Okoro Nwandigo, representative of Ambassador Moses Ifedayo and the Nigeria High Commission Ghana; Dr. Albert Asaolu, president of All Nigerian Community (ANC), Madam Beauty, first Female Vice President of ANC; Ms Seraphim, representative of Ghana Alumni President and Executive Council; Emeritus Presidents, Comr. Abubakar Kayode, Comr. Ilo Ikenna Valentine, among others.

Ifejuka C. Somtochuckwu was inaugurated as the president, Yahaya Sali as Vice President, Moradeyo Bolarinwa as Secretary General, Ijeoma Mary Isaac as Woman’s Commissioner, Oshobu Oluwayemisi as Welfare officer, Damian O. Obili as Public Relations Officer, Meg Ochanya Amodu as Treasurer, and Ogolo Wisdom Ugochukwu as Chief of Staff.

Ifejuka and team assured the Nigerian community of a continued and wealthy relationship between stakeholders and the union. Further drawing the attention of all, as she promises to relentlessly project the voices of the Nigerian students studying in Ghana.

On the other hand, the immediate past president, Comr. Sam Edem, in his farewell speech, encouraged the Nigerian community to stay committed to the union’s shared values; unity, strength in diversity, and firmness of integrity at any point in time.

He further expressed his sincere gratitude to his team who stood together to protect the union’s interest during his administration, despite the racketed challenges faced by Nigerian Students in Ghana, however, maximum composure and measures were deployed to address such challenges.

Among other relevant matters, Comr. Kayode, expressed his deepest concern on the declining nature of students’ participation and mobilization in the union’s activities, revealing that the union needs financial support, sponsors and partners to steer the affairs of the union.

Mrs. Okoro (NHC), Dr. Albert Asaolu (ANC), Ms. Seraphim amongst others, assured the new administration of continued stakeholder-student engagement.
