Addressing the press after the event held on Friday, November 8 in Accra, Ghana’s capital, Adeoye explained that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is “irrevocably committed to the welfare of Nigerians,” stressing that Nigerians abroad are incorporated into his administration.

He mentioned that the present administration in Nigeria has a plan for the diaspora, with one of the key components being diaspora engagement.

“The present administration in Nigeria has a plan for the diaspora. President Bola Tinubu when he came into office, came out with a new foreign policy with four Ds. One of the Ds, the key one, is diaspora. That’s to tell you that Nigerians abroad are well incorporated into the administration. So, the Nigerian government is irrevocably committed to the welfare of Nigerians not only in Ghana but everywhere you are in the world,” he said.

Despite being in office for less than 6 months, Adeoye stated that his office is already exerting its influence on the actions of Nigerians living in Ghana.

He mentioned that the commission has brought together Nigerians in Ghana to live peacefully among themselves, and they have successfully repatriated over 200 stranded citizens.

“I came in towards the end of May and you can see, you can listen to what they said. Since I came, I made sure that we were rallying all Nigerians in Ghana. You can see that we are making sure that Nigerians here live peacefully among themselves. We have gone to prisons to talk to Nigerians in prisons. Within that period, we have successfully repatriated more than 200 stranded Nigerians here in Ghana, but with the support of ANC, sometimes NIDO. So, we’ve been doing a lot, and apart from that we have increased the feasibility of Nigeria here in Ghana,” he said.Do You Want To See The Video Of This Content?
