In a statement by Moses Owopade, his Adviser on Information, Ashaolu said the peaceful nature of the polls is a strong display of the love Ghanaians have for their country, emphasizing that the election results truly reflect the desires of the people.
He noted that the concession speech by Vice President and main opposition leader, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, before the EC’s declaration, demonstrates his patriotism for the country.
Asaolu also commended the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Jean Mensah, for delivering the high-quality election process that Ghana is known for. He expressed that Ghana has always set an example on the continent for conducting elections.

He congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama for his outstanding victory in the election. He expressed confidence that the President will lead Ghana towards greater prosperity and strengthen relationships with other countries worldwide, promoting unity across Africa and beyond.
The ANC President also praised Nigerians in Ghana for their exemplary conduct during the election.
“Before the election, I sent a message that any Nigerian caught misbehaving during the election and arrested would face consequences alone. I am pleased that no Nigerian was arrested for any reason during the election. I salute all my fellow Nigerians,” he said.
Chief Asaolu assured that he will continue to ensure that Nigerians in Ghana remain law-abiding citizens. He also pledged to mobilize and attract more Nigerian investors to boost Ghana’s economy and encourage Nigerians to consider investing back home in Nigeria.
Recall that during his acceptance speech, the President-elect assured the country that he and his incoming team would not disappoint the people who had shown so much trust in them, as demonstrated by the overwhelming victory he achieved in the election.
