He mentioned that in a country like Nigeria, people are facing significant challenges, including the exchange rate, increase in fuel prices, among others.

Davido bemoaned the hike in oil prices, despite Nigeria being an oil-producing country. He added that the country lacks good leaders to ensure a better structure and a progressive economy.

According to him, entertainment is the only thing that is making Africa look good, and although he tries to play his part, he refrains from showing the bad parts of Nigeria.

“Leave America and go where? Let’s be honest, go back where? Its not cool back home. My country’s economy is now in shambles. I do my part, I’m an ambassador. When I go home, I’m filming, I’m not going to show the bad part, I go to the trenches but I’m talking about the situation of the country.

In Nigeria, the exchange rate is messed up. A lot of stuff is not going well. The economy is just not good anymore. The oil prices are too high, and imagine a country that produces oil. We produce the oil, and we are paying more money for oil. A country that is importing oil.
