Nwabali Threaten by South Africans Not To Return To His Club In The Country

The Super Eagles’ goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is said to have received a warning from South Africans not to return to his club in that nation, according to a Daily Trust report.

For Chippa United in the South African Premier Soccer League, Nwabali is the starting goalkeeper of choice.

During an interview on Channels TV, former Super Eagles star, Idah Peterside mentioned receiving reports that Nwabali has been threatened by people who told him not to return to South Africa, because he prevented them from scoring during a game. The threats made towards Nwabali and others are deemed unacceptable, although no acts of violence have been reported.

Nigeria emerged victorious over South Africa in the semi-final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) held at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake, after a one-all draw and a 4-2 win in the penalty shootout. Nwabali, who saved two penalties during the game, was named man of the match.
