In response to a news stating that the Federal Government of Nigeria is thinking of changing a $30 billion domiciliary account to Naira, former Kaduna lawmaker Shehu Sani responded.
The Federal Government intends to convert a $30 billion domiciliary account to Naira, according to PUNCH.
The report further stated that a top Presidency source who made the revelation claimed that the move is meant to stabilise the naira, which recorded its biggest fall in the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market on Monday, after it depreciated by 24 per cent to close at N1,348 per dollar.
Reacting to the report, Shehu Sani said that calling on the diaspora to send their dollars to Nigeria and contemplating on converting the dollars of those who have domiciliary dollar account, is contradictory.
