Sanusi to Nigerians “Blame Buhari not Tinubu for economic hardship”

Former Kano Emir Sanusi emphasized the inability of the previous administration to successfully oversee economic policies, alleging that President Buhari disregarded important counsel meant to assist Nigeria in overcoming its economic difficulties.

He noted, “I have consistently warned about the impending crisis prior to the current economic difficulties. Any economist analyzing monetary policy over the past eight years understands that Nigerians would face these tough times.”

Sanusi highlighted the reluctance of the previous administration to implement corrective measures, which worsened the economic situation and contributed to the current hardships experienced by Nigerians.

While holding back criticizing President Tinubu for the continuous economic difficulties, Sanusi said that the responsibility should be placed on the mismanagement of the economy by the preceding administration.

“It is unjust to blame the Tinubu administration for the current economic challenges, as there was no alternative but to remove the fuel subsidy,” Sanusi said.

He called on Nigerians to endure the hardship and urged those with the means to assist the less privilege during these challenging times.
