Simple air fryer pizzas ‘aren’t greasy’ and have ‘tonnes of flavour’ – recipe

Personal pizzas are ideal when cooking a meal for one or making a varied spread to enjoy as a group.

Their compact size means they are perfect for air-frying too, and will even take the shape of a basket for neat results.

While there are endless variations of dough, bases and toppings to experiment with, a duo of chefs who founded the Air Frying Foodie blog have shared the simplest margarita recipe.

They said: “Everyone loves having their own pizza, which is why this recipe is a big hit with kids. Plus, the best part about this simple recipe is that you don’t need a fancy pizza oven to make it.

“All you need are a few simple ingredients and an Air Fryer, and you can whip up these personal pan pizzas in under 30 minutes.”

To make the pizzas, preheat the air fryer to 190C and line the basket with some baking parchment or tinfoil.

Roll the pizza dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape it to match the size of the fryer basket, minus a centimetre or two.

Carefully transfer the base into the fryer and brush lightly with a teaspoon of olive oil.

Spoon a light layer of passata over the base and sprinkle over the grated mozzarella, and any other cheese if using.

Add a mixture of toppings such as pepperoni, vegetables, and ham, then air fryer for seven minutes at a reduced temperature of 185C.

Fry until the crust turns “golden brown and crispy” and the cheese has melted over the base. Top with extra basil, cheese and chilli flakes for extra flavour before serving.

The chef’s claimed that the result is a personal pizza that’s “not greasy but still has tonnes of flavour!”
