The midfielder was not included in the Europa League match against Real Betis on Thursday due to some discomfort, and may also miss the FA Cup game against Fulham.

Despite not being a regular in the first team, McTominay was expected to feature in the upcoming matches due to Casemiro’s suspension.

However, with injuries to Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek, Ten Hag may need McTominay to be fit and ready for action.

‘We just returned. We have to see, to see the doc. I have an idea but I have to see the progress with some players,’ Ten Hag told Manchester United club media on Friday.

‘About the last game, that is why I didn’t bring him in, Scott McTominay, [as] he had some complaints. We have to see how that will progress in the coming hours and days.’

If Scott McTominay is unavailable, Erik ten Hag still has options in midfield. Fred has been featuring regularly, and Marcel Sabitzer is also available for selection.

Additionally, Kobbie Mainoo, a 17-year-old who made his first-team debut in January, will be eager to showcase his skills if given the chance.….PROCEED YOUR READING
