Frank accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of weaponizing land revocations to target political adversaries ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement released on Saturday, Frank suggested that Wike’s actions were part of a broader scheme to harass members of opposition parties, particularly those who might challenge President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election. He further claimed that Wike was using the revocation of land titles to suppress and intimidate political opponents, particularly those who had opposed him during his tenure as Governor of Rivers State.
Frank specifically criticized the alleged revocation of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for prominent figures, including former President Muhammadu Buhari, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume. He dismissed the revocation claims as part of a “Nollywood script,” implying they were fabricated for political purposes.
“We have intelligence at our disposal,” Frank said, “indicating that the list of landholders whose C of Os have supposedly been revoked is part of Wike’s strategy to intimidate opposition figures and anyone who might seek to contest against President Tinubu in 2027.”
Frank also pointed out that Buhari had already denied owning the land linked to the revocation, while Abbas had refuted claims of owing debts to the FCTA. He argued that Wike, as a minister under Tinubu’s government, would not dare to revoke land belonging to prominent members of the current administration. According to Frank, Wike was using their names to divert attention from his ongoing actions in the FCT, which he described as an indiscriminate land-grabbing campaign targeting vulnerable citizens.
“Wike is using these names as a cover-up for his actions, which include demolitions and land seizures that have largely affected poor and innocent Nigerians,” Frank said.
Frank further challenged Wike to provide evidence that the APC officials listed in the revocation notices were indeed the owners of the lands in question. He likened Wike’s approach in Abuja to the tactics he employed during his time as governor of Rivers State, where he was accused of revoking the land titles of political opponents and demolishing their properties.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: WHY YOU MUST NOT FAIL TO HAVE $EX BY 12PM. In conclusion, Frank alleged that Wike’s actions were not only politically motivated but also mirrored the tactics of political persecution that have been a feature of his tenure in both Rivers State and now in the FCT..Tap To Read The Full Story Here.
