In a surprising turn of events on Thursday, President Tinubu reassigned Ogunjimi to the Public Service Institute of Nigeria as Director of Accounts, effectively reinstating Dr. Madein to oversee the nation’s treasury operations.

A letter confirming Madein’s continuation in office was issued by the Head of Service of the Federation and formally announced on Thursday. The development was also corroborated by Bawa Mokwa, spokesperson for the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF). Mokwa stated that the directive ensures stability in treasury operations, allowing Madein to remain in charge until her retirement.

“This reinstatement allows Dr. Madein to complete ongoing projects and reforms critical to the nation’s financial system,” Mokwa explained. He added that terminal leave is optional under civil service rules, leaving questions about whether Ogunjimi’s prior appointment as Acting AGF has been nullified or merely delayed.

Although the letter did not explicitly revoke Ogunjimi’s appointment, it effectively postpones his assumption of the role until further notice from the President.

Supporters of Dr. Madein have lauded the decision, emphasizing her dedication to completing key projects initiated during her tenure. “By January 2025, many of the projects she began will be ready for commissioning. She is committed to seeing them through and ensuring her efforts are recognized,” a supporter told The Nation.

Mokwa further noted that Madein’s return would foster unity within the OAGF. “Her reinstatement brings stability. She will resume signing documents and checks as AGF, putting an end to any uncertainty or discord within the treasury.”DO YOU LACK A HEALTHY $3X LIFE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP AND MARRIAGE?
