Despite these efforts, he questioned the necessity of protests, deeming them unnecessary. He highlighted that numerous measures and policies have been implemented to tackle various issues, particularly those affecting the youth.

Through the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, President Tinubu noted that the proposed protest was discussed at the Federal Executive Council meeting. Idris explained that the recent student loan policy aims to ensure that no Nigerian child drops out of school due to financial constraints.

Idris stated: “The position of FEC is that most of the demands that the protesters are making are actually being addressed by the federal government. Therefore, it is the view of the government that there is no need for the protests because most of the issues raised by the protesters are already being addressed by the government.

“This administration is a listening one. The President has heard the concerns of those planning the protest and assures them that it is unnecessary.”

The Information Minister added: “In the last council meeting, we announced that 20 trucks of relief supplies had been allocated to state governors for distribution to the needy. Additionally, rice is being sold at about 50 percent of its cost, with bags available for N40,000 at designated centers across all states.

“Initially, 10 trucks have been allocated to each state. While some may say it is not enough, these are initial steps, and more interventions are planned. Significant investments are being made in the agricultural sector as part of long-term solutions.”...For More READ THE FULL STORY▶▶
