Umahi’s visit to Bauchi was also to express condolences to the governor and the people of the state following a flood disaster that claimed seven lives, destroyed homes, and damaged roads.
Acknowledging the poor economic situation inherited by the current administration, the Minister emphasized that President Tinubu requires the support of all Nigerians to guide the country out of its difficulties. He called for both support and prayers for the president, stating, “We have no other country, and I ask for your support and that of the people of Bauchi for the president.”
Reflecting on his stance during challenges faced in the South-East over the Muslim-Muslim ticket, Umahi maintained that it was divinely ordained for President Tinubu to lead the nation’s reset and recovery.
He added, “The president has made bold and courageous decisions, though they may not yet be fully understood by everyone, particularly those less familiar with the complexities of governance. When dealing with a problem, you first provide immediate relief and then conduct further analysis to identify the root causes. Fortunately, the president is a knowledgeable technocrat who understands the country’s situation comprehensively.”
Umahi also pointed out the president’s efforts in alleviating people’s suffering, citing initiatives such as cash transfers, student loans, and solutions to energy needs through Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
