No less than five soldiers were among the victims of the attack in a village near Mubi, the second largest city in Adamawa state. Although no group claimed to be responsible for the bomb attack, there were suspicions that Boko Haram sect might have carried it out given that the area had often been targeted by the terrorist group.

The attack did not only leave many people devastated, it instilled more fear among residents as terrorist activities worsened in recent time with the security agencies appearing overwhelmed. For the residents, seeing over 40 people eliminated in a twinkle of an eye was a sight too hard to bear, making them live in fear of possible attack by terrorists.
