It was reported that the Federal Government allocated over N12 billion for the upgrading of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
This renovation was outlined in President Bola Tinubu’s N49.7 trillion 2025 “Budget of Restoration” presented to the 10th National Assembly.
According to the budget details, the National Sports Commission, NSC, will spend N12,772,951,242 out of its N94,947,006,325 total budget on the Abuja stadium’s main bowl upgrade.
The sum of N4.5 billion was also allocated for construction of a sports secretariat at the Abuja Stadium, N3.65 billion for procuring official vehicles and utility needs while N1.2 billion was budgeted for building a National Olympic Committee, NOC, headquarters in Abuja.
Reacting to the development amid growing hardship in Nigeria, Shehu Sani in a post on his X handle on Sunday, stated that the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, was renovated by Aliko Dangote in 2022.
