Over the past week, troops launched sustained offensives against camps controlled by notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, neutralizing scores of his fighters and destroying key hideouts in Fakai and Shinkafi forests. Many bandits and their collaborators have been captured alive.
The military’s coordinated efforts, including airstrikes and ground assaults, have left bandits in disarray, forcing them to abandon their camps and flee in desperation. Many of the bandits have been seen running helter skelter, frantically searching for new hiding spots as the military tightens its grip on the region.
Reports indicate that several bandit leaders are now scattered, unable to regroup due to the continuous pressure.
With almost all escape routes effectively closed, the military has strategically sealed major transit corridors used by the bandits to evade capture.
