The assailants also took the lives of three others and injured several residents during the overnight raid.

According to reports, they abducted Surajo’s first and second wives along with his daughter, a university undergraduate. However, sources confirm that the first wife was later released.

Surajo, who previously served as MACBAN’s state secretary, became Acting Chairman following the mysterious disappearance of Munnir Lamido, the National Vice President of MACBAN and the Katsina State Chairman, in June 2023.

Lamido vanished while travelling to Kaduna State, and his vehicle and phones were later found near Maraban Jos. His disappearance remains unresolved.

Security operatives have been deployed to Kusada, which was previously considered a relatively peaceful area in Katsina, raising questions about whether the attack was more than an act of banditry.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY!
